THE INSTITUTE OF CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS OF INDIA (ICAI)

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is a statutory body established by an Act of Parliament, viz. The Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 (Act No.XXXVIII of 1949) for regulating the profession of Chartered Accountancy in the country. The Institute, functions under the administrative control of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India. The ICAI is the second largest professional body of Chartered Accountants in the world, with a strong tradition of service to the Indian economy in public interest. The Institute has achieved recognition as a premier accounting body not only in the country but also globally for its contribution in the fields of education, professional development, maintenance of high accounting and auditing standards.

    HEADQUATERS

The Institute has its headquarters at New Delhi with 5 Regional Offices at Mumbai, Chennai, Kanpur, Kolkata and New Delhi and 128 branches spread all over the country. In addition, it has also set up 21 Chapters outside India and has opened offices in Dubai & England as well.

    REGIONAL OFFICE

The Office of Central India Regional Council (CIRC) is situated in Kanpur having 47 Branches, 19 CPE Chapters, 26 CPE study groups and 7 CPE Study Circles. Central Region of the Institute consists of seven states viz. UP, Uttaranchal, MP, Chattishgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand & Rajasthan. Lucknow Branch Address is ICAI BHAWAN, Patrakarpuram, Vikas Khand 1, Institutional Area, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow.

    Examination Centre

The ICAI holds examinations in May and November of each year. The authorized examination centre of CA Exams is housed in JNPG College. At present Dr. Saman Khan of BBA Department and Dr. Jitendra Awasthi of Mathematics Department are the Chiefs of CA Examinations.
